- helps to induce sleep/sleepiness/influences timing of sleeping/waking/control sleep cycle;
Do not award mpb unless the answer is referring to secretion, not just correlations.
Examiners report
This was relatively well answered, with points related to circadian rhythms and induction of sleep. The commonest error was to confuse melatonin and melanin.
