At both levels, the majority of the candidates picked the same incorrect option B, representing the final distance of the person from the source of the wave. The question asked for the distance moved by the person, i.e., the displacement between the initial and the final position, and this information seems to have been commonly overlooked. This question is the one with the lowest discrimination index at SL and the lowest percentage of correct answers at HL.
